The problems are similar for both amateur and professional - they vary chiefly in scale and cost - and the choices for addressing this challenge increase in number and complexity every day. Whether you’re a serious amateur or long-time professional photographer, an Instagram fanatic, or a world-traveling videographer, you’ve encountered the challenge of accessing, organizing, and storing your growing collection of digital photos and videos. You’ll find information about how to enter this promotion at the end of this post. But really no browser or anything, that is just keyword transference.NAS + CLOUD GIVEAWAY FROM MORRO DATA AND BACKBLAZEīackblaze and Morro Data have teamed up to offer a hardware and software package giveaway that combines the best of NAS and the cloud for managing your photos and videos. The only thing that it seems may be that something that will work would be FindrCat Pro. I am honestly surprised that Adobe did not integrate bridge and lightroom to make things like this a bit easier to manage.Īnd that leads me to the inevitable "maybe if I get this to work with Adobe products I should use Premiere" which has it's advantages but slow renders really suck. And really using it as a photo management tool is just not in the cards. Now I could use Bridge to do some basic DAM, but it seems not as intuitive as I hoped. And I would really like to keyword those files for some quick search and use. And there seems to be no way to ignore those files. LR seems to really bog down on files like that. Now I can do this but if I want to leverage Lightroom for photo manipulation of those files it will attempt to ingest the video files as well, and those are quite large. I'd love to store my photos there too so all assets are in one location. Right now, because of lightroom, I have two.įor my collection of audio and video on gigs I have been storing them in a simple hierarchy of \drive\projects\year\event name. I've been doing some gig logs on YouTube which is starting to use up more space, but at the same time I want to coalesce all my professional data over into a single storage management hierarchy.
I of course take a bunch of pictures and videos throughout my personal life, but I also use the same gear for my professional needs capturing ancillary photos and video for weddings. Trying to juggle a bunch of things at once is a real PITA when it comes to running a business and also trying to manage personal stuff to boot.
